Lea Michele to Perform “Hit Me Baby One More Time!”

Filed under Glee Cast Member Sighting, Lea Michele, Pictures by Tinkers on 06-08-2010

Lea Michele has been spotted walking around set in an outfit that looks suspiciously like one worn by Britney Spears in the music video for Hit Me Baby One More Time! In fact, it’s identical.

She has been quoted as saying she’d recreate one of the pop star’s older music videos, so this outfit pretty much confirms her performance. What do you think? Was this the right song for her? Post away!

The ULTIMATE Season 2 Spoiler Round-Up!

Filed under Glee Cast & Crew, Glee Episode Spoilers, Glee Guest Stars, Glee TV Show News by Tinkers on 04-08-2010

I now present to you, a HUGE HUGE round-up of every Season 2 spoiler you could ever need in your life! If you haven’t been keeping track of all the interviews, press events, panels, and just general hype, have no fear! This post is brought to you by TheGLEEkSpot’s tumblr, with the latest news added!

New Characters:

  • Kurt gets a boyfriend. An “everyday guy.” He’s going to be struggling with his sexuality and Kurt is going to help him through this. Ryan wants them to be prom king and prom king. This plot line is apparently delayed past the first few episodes.*
  • A christian country singer (a la Carrie Underwood) is supposed to come on. No word on how big this role is going to be. She’s also supposed to have a pretty big problem with Kurt and his boyfriend being gay.
  • Sam Elliot will be played by Chord Overstreet. Sam is a football player. Finn will take Sam under his wing, and will utlimately become Finn’s rival. He will also have a special relationship with Quinn.
  • Mercedes gets a love interest, too. A “male version of herself” (Can you say killer duets?)
  • Charice will be guest starring as a foreign exchange student and a rival to Rachel. Her character, Sunshine, will start out very small but as the season progresses she will get bigger. Charice starts filiming on July 28th with the rest of the cast, so she will be in the first episode.
  • Dot Jones will playing Shannon Beiste (pronounced BEEST) the new football coach, replacing Ken Tanaka, who will no longer be on Glee.
  • Cheyenne Jackson will be replacing Idina Menzel’s role as the new coach of Vocal Adrenaline. This will be a major, recurring role.
  • John Stamos will have a recurring role as Emma’s dentist boyfriend.
  • Javier Bardem will appear as a rock star who befriends Artie. “We’re going to rock the house,” the 41-year-old Gleek tells EW. “We’re going to do some heavy metal — Spanish heavy metal, which is the worst.”
  • Comedy legend Carol Burnett is said to be in the works for the role of Sue Sylvester’s Nazi-hunting mother. Nothing is confirmed yet, but really, how could they pass up Carol Burnett?

*They’re saying that Sam Elliot is NOT Kurt’s boyfriend. Our theory? They’re pulling back on all the hype so Sam can have a surprise “coming out” moment. The same way Idina being Rachel’s mother was a surprise.

Glee Attendees at Comic-Con 2010

Filed under Glee Cast & Crew, Glee Events by Tinkers on 24-06-2010

Glee will once again be attending the San Diego Comic-Con! Since last year’s panel, Glee has exploded into an international phenomenon, winning at the Golden Globes, SAG awards, and People’s Choice Awards, just to name a few. The fanbase has exploded, twitter accounts gaining thousands of followers, and the actors have become household names. Some people questioned why Glee first came to the five-day long convention, but their return to Comic-Con was all but imminent. This year, the panel will feature actors that were absent from last year’s.

So, there’s good news and bad news. The good: Chris Colfer, Amber Riley, Jenna Ushkowitz, Kevin McHale, Mark Salling, Heather Morris, and Naya Rivera will be attending the panel and answering fan questions, alongside Brad Falchuk and Ryan Murphy. The bad: Lea Michele, Matthew Morrison, Dianna Agron and Cory Monteith will be MIA. Jane Lynch will be absent as well; apparently she had a scheduling conflict.

Now, before you take drastic measures: “Last year, we brought down Lea Michele, Cory Monteith, Matthew Morrison, and Dianna Agron. Because we have such a large cast and we can’t bring everyone every year, this year we decided to bring down some of the cast who didn’t get to go last summer,” A Fox spokesperson tells Entertainment Weekly.

Makes sense, right? To quote Sue Sylvester: “We’re giving everyone a chance to be a star! Find your voice, stomp that yard, all that crap!”

Here’s a great interview from Live with Regis and Kelly with the unfathomably talented Lea Michele! Poor Lea sounds like she’s lost her voice in this one; her voice cracks a few times. Arduous rehearsing for the Tony’s, perhaps?

Best Week Ever: Glee Trying Not to be Gay on Rolling Stones Cover?!

Filed under Pictures, Random by Tinkers on 02-04-2010

Check out this HIGH-LARIOUS article from Best Week Ever on the campy Glee cover of the Rolling Stones magazines. Although I must agree…who’s bright idea was it to expose Lea Michele’s ass to the magazine-reading/cover-skimming world?

Glee-Rolling-Stone-Magazine-Cover-Photo-500x680

Fox has been quite cruel to us these past few months, taking one of the few things around to bring us crisp, uncomplicated, adolescent joy and waxing it away like so many layers of post-pubescent hair. I speak, of course, about Glee, the hour-long musical drame-glee which ingrained itself deep, deep into our psyche, reminding us that we were perhaps cooler in high school than we gave ourselves credit for. (Example: I’ve never been pantsed. Unwillingly.)

But in 2 weeks, as the ads running 4 times per 15 minute intervals in between this season’s horrendous American Idol contestants have well reminded us, GLEE IS BACK. And to whet our appetites for what will surely be the most anticipated television return since Kelsey Grammar on Frasier, Rolling Stone Magazine has put the cast on their cover. And look… they’ve completely exposed Lea Michelle’s ass. Well.

Listen Glee, try as you may, buttocks flying free, but you’re still pretttttty much the gayest show on TV. Own it. We love you for it. Keep that ass under an ill-fitting plaid skirt where it belongs. And thank you.

Also 2 weeks until the RePremiere! Considering how bad Idol is this season, we’re prepping our campy sequined eye tourniquets in advance. We need a hit, and we need it bad.

Lea Michele and Kristin Chenoweth to Star in Animated “Dorothy of Oz”!

Filed under Glee TV Show News, Lea Michele by Tinkers on 14-01-2010

Shrine Auditorium lea2

I think you all will be as ecstatic as I am to learn that Lea Michele and Kristin Chenoweth, who’s already spent some time over in Oz originating the role of Galinda in the Broadway blockbuster “Wicked” (but I’m sure you already knew that), will be reuniting on the big screen come 2011! The two will star in an animated feature film called ”Dorothy of Oz” in which Dorothy, voiced by Lea Michele, is said to return to the land of Oz in a whole new set of adventures. Kristin Chenoweth will be lending her voice, not to Glinda, but to a new character called the China Doll Princess.

Rumors of other characters are rampant as well – the Scarecrow is said to be voiced by Dan Aykroyd (of SNL, The Blues Brothers, and Ghostbusters fame), the Tin Man by Kelsey Grammer (Cheers, Fraiser, The Simpsons) , and the Cowardly Lion by James Belushi (According to Jim). She returns to find her old friends missing in action, only to make some  magical new ones — including a man made entirely of Mashmallows and Kristin’s China Doll Princess, described as a woman who uses bossiness to cover her fragility. They team up to bring down Oz’s newest villain, a Jester (voiced by Martin Short) who thinks all of Oz should be under his control.

The Dorothy of Oz website lists Disney animation vet Daniel St. Pierre as the film’s director, with songs written by country singer/songwriter Tift Merritt and lyricist Mike Himelstein and a score by Jim Dooley, who worked on Chenoweth’s former TV show Pushing Daisies.

A full list of the crew is available on the film’s website:  http://www.dorothyofozthemovie.com/.

Lea Michele on the Rachael Ray Show

Filed under Glee Interviews, Lea Michele by Rob on 20-10-2009

Lea Michele on the Rachel Ray ShowLea Michele will be on the Rachael Ray Show tomorrow, October 21st. Thanks to the magic of prerecorded daytime television, here are some quotes and an image from Lea’s appearance on the show!

Lea on who she wants to do a duet with:
“I really love Adam Lambert, and I would really love to sing with him because I think he is awesome…I’m kind of obsessed with him, I follow him on Twitter.”

Lea on being followed by the paparazzi:
“They don’t really follow me actually. We’re dorks, we’ll always be dorks…except for when we’re in groups of two. When I go out with Cory Monteith I find that they recognize us the most because they just see this insanely tall guy with this really short girl, and they’re like who are these people. I think it’s because we’re not the kind of kids to really go out.”
