The ULTIMATE Season 2 Spoiler Round-Up!

Filed under Glee Cast & Crew, Glee Episode Spoilers, Glee Guest Stars, Glee TV Show News by Tinkers on 04-08-2010

I now present to you, a HUGE HUGE round-up of every Season 2 spoiler you could ever need in your life! If you haven’t been keeping track of all the interviews, press events, panels, and just general hype, have no fear! This post is brought to you by TheGLEEkSpot’s tumblr, with the latest news added!

New Characters:

  • Kurt gets a boyfriend. An “everyday guy.” He’s going to be struggling with his sexuality and Kurt is going to help him through this. Ryan wants them to be prom king and prom king. This plot line is apparently delayed past the first few episodes.*
  • A christian country singer (a la Carrie Underwood) is supposed to come on. No word on how big this role is going to be. She’s also supposed to have a pretty big problem with Kurt and his boyfriend being gay.
  • Sam Elliot will be played by Chord Overstreet. Sam is a football player. Finn will take Sam under his wing, and will utlimately become Finn’s rival. He will also have a special relationship with Quinn.
  • Mercedes gets a love interest, too. A “male version of herself” (Can you say killer duets?)
  • Charice will be guest starring as a foreign exchange student and a rival to Rachel. Her character, Sunshine, will start out very small but as the season progresses she will get bigger. Charice starts filiming on July 28th with the rest of the cast, so she will be in the first episode.
  • Dot Jones will playing Shannon Beiste (pronounced BEEST) the new football coach, replacing Ken Tanaka, who will no longer be on Glee.
  • Cheyenne Jackson will be replacing Idina Menzel’s role as the new coach of Vocal Adrenaline. This will be a major, recurring role.
  • John Stamos will have a recurring role as Emma’s dentist boyfriend.
  • Javier Bardem will appear as a rock star who befriends Artie. “We’re going to rock the house,” the 41-year-old Gleek tells EW. “We’re going to do some heavy metal — Spanish heavy metal, which is the worst.”
  • Comedy legend Carol Burnett is said to be in the works for the role of Sue Sylvester’s Nazi-hunting mother. Nothing is confirmed yet, but really, how could they pass up Carol Burnett?

*They’re saying that Sam Elliot is NOT Kurt’s boyfriend. Our theory? They’re pulling back on all the hype so Sam can have a surprise “coming out” moment. The same way Idina being Rachel’s mother was a surprise.

Glee Attendees at Comic-Con 2010

Filed under Glee Cast & Crew, Glee Events by Tinkers on 24-06-2010

Glee will once again be attending the San Diego Comic-Con! Since last year’s panel, Glee has exploded into an international phenomenon, winning at the Golden Globes, SAG awards, and People’s Choice Awards, just to name a few. The fanbase has exploded, twitter accounts gaining thousands of followers, and the actors have become household names. Some people questioned why Glee first came to the five-day long convention, but their return to Comic-Con was all but imminent. This year, the panel will feature actors that were absent from last year’s.

So, there’s good news and bad news. The good: Chris Colfer, Amber Riley, Jenna Ushkowitz, Kevin McHale, Mark Salling, Heather Morris, and Naya Rivera will be attending the panel and answering fan questions, alongside Brad Falchuk and Ryan Murphy. The bad: Lea Michele, Matthew Morrison, Dianna Agron and Cory Monteith will be MIA. Jane Lynch will be absent as well; apparently she had a scheduling conflict.

Now, before you take drastic measures: “Last year, we brought down Lea Michele, Cory Monteith, Matthew Morrison, and Dianna Agron. Because we have such a large cast and we can’t bring everyone every year, this year we decided to bring down some of the cast who didn’t get to go last summer,” A Fox spokesperson tells Entertainment Weekly.

Makes sense, right? To quote Sue Sylvester: “We’re giving everyone a chance to be a star! Find your voice, stomp that yard, all that crap!”

Article 1: Broadway Kid

When I was three, my parents put me in for commercials and voiceovers, then print ads and all that fun stuff. I went in for my first audition which was a Toys R Us commercial. I booked that. My parents were like, “All right, college fund.”

I was nine when I was on Broadway. There was an open call for The King and I, so I went on for that. I went through probably like three or four callbacks over the span of two months, and then I found out I got it. I was in the fourth grade at that time, and so I had a tutor for a month when we rehearsed and there were 14 kids. The King and I triggered my love for music and theater and how the Broadway community works. It really is a community. When you open, you have eight shows a week. Sometimes, when it’s a bigger role, they switch off four and four shows. That way, nobody’s getting burnt out. But we did all eight at the age of nine years old. Luckily, my teachers were extremely supportive.

My parents bought a minivan, so I could do my homework on the way in, then do the show, and sleep on the way home so I could go to school the next morning. We lived on Long Island, so we were driving to the city every single day. My parents waited, they would go to movies, they would go see other shows. The ushers would let them sit at the back of the house and watch the second act of our show, and in between they’ll take us to dinner, and then we’ll do another show. I’m sure that there are times that I wanted to see my friends, or see my family or do something else. But,even as adults, we have those moments. I don’t remember being tired at all. I just remember my father said I always wanted to be the first one to the theater and I would always be the last one to come out.

Spoiler Alert: Target Filming and Artie/Tina!

Filed under Glee Cast Member Sighting, Glee TV Show News, Jenna Ushkowitz, Kevin McHale, Random by Tinkers on 17-03-2010

Today, a Beehive TV Buzz reader posted their lucky encounter with the very set of Glee, who were filming at a local Target! They even got the once-in-a-lifetime chance to witness an adorbs Artie/Tina scene in person! Click here for the original article.

GLEE: Only in LA…who knew that a quick run to my friendly neighborhood Target would yield such a wonderful surprise? I go for dishwasher liquid and end up walking right onto the open set of GLEE!! I’m a huge fan, and I have to admit even for a city girl that was pretty cool! It was a shopping mall scene between Tina (Jenna Ushkowitz) and Artie (Kevin Mchale)…

SPOILER ALERT: Stop reading now if you don’t want to know!

In this particular scene, Tina exchanges an anxious look with Artie…and then Tina helps Artie stand up from his wheelchair!!!! Is it possible that Artie’s future won’t include a wheelchair?? We can only speculate, but what a great new twist. I can’t wait to find out.
Whatever they do, as long as they keep the music amazing, this girl will be tuning in!!! Upcoming guests include Lady Gaga, Justin Timberlake, Idina Menzel and more!!

Which guest are you most excited about seeing this season???

Editor’s Note: This info isn’t 100% confirmed, but it’s definitely something to think about! Eyes and ears open, Gleeks!

Jenna Ushkowitz on the Today Show

Filed under Jenna Ushkowitz, Videos by Rob on 23-12-2009

Jenna Ushkowitz was on the Today Show with Kathie Lee & Hoda to talk about Sanrio’s donation of $100,000 worth of Hello Kitty toys to Today’s Toy Drive 2009. It’s a pretty short video, but Jenna is so cute with her little Hello Kitty doll. Enjoy! :)

Jenna Ushkowitz Wants Tina to Join the Cheerios!

Filed under Glee Interviews, Jenna Ushkowitz by Rob on 18-11-2009

Jenna UshkowitzJenna Ushkowitz was interviewed by the NY Post‘s PopWrap about Tina’s stutter, what happens in “Ballads” and more! Make sure that you read the whole interview to hear what Jenna thinks about Tina’s stutter being fake and what we can expect for the rest of the season.

PW: Does Tina get any more solos?
Jenna: “True Colors” is Tina’s — and I haven’t heard the extended version that will be on the CD, just the TV cut, so I’m actually really excited to hear that too.

PW: Have you given any thought to what you’d like Tina to sing in next year’s Madonna-only episode?
Jenna: Oh, there are a lot. I would love to do “Frozen” since it goes along with dark Tina. I’d like to see Kurt do “Material Girl!” Or maybe “Ray of Light,” “Open Your Heart,” “Like A Virgin” — they’re all classics. But our writers will do it right, I have faith!

PW: What else would you like to see in the second half of season one?
Jenna: I would love to see where Tina comes from because I’ve created my own backstory where she’s rebelling against her mother more than anything. I don’t think her room is filled with dark posters and heavy metal stuff — I just think this is a phase she’s going through. There’s definitely a lot of options for all the characters to evolve and change next year. I’m totally rooting for Tina to join The Cheerios or something crazy like that!

PW: Oh god, that would be amazing!
Jenna: It would be hilarious to see her with that high ponytail — but I have to keep the blue hair! I love my blue hair!

GleeFan Exclusive: Jenna Ushkowitz Interview

Filed under Glee Interviews, GleeFan.com Exclusive, Jenna Ushkowitz by Rob on 02-06-2009

Jenna UshkowitzJenna Ushkowitz took the time to answer some fun fan questions submitted by you guys. Make sure to check out this GleeFan exclusive, and we hope you enjoy it! Also, if Jenna answered one of your questions, you may want to leave a thank you comment in case she comes visiting again. ;)

Q: “Which of your cast member(s) have you gotten closest to while filming Glee?” – Cynthia
A: I have to say that I can’t pick and choose the Gleeks I’ve gotten closest to because we are all such a tight knit family and we all love each other so much it’s kind of amazing and rare. We all have a really special bond and I’m very appreciative of every cast/crew member we have. Most of us spend a lot of time with each other off-screen too, which creates an amazing chemistry that I think definitely reads during our scenes.

Q: “What other actors/singers inspire you the most?” – Skweakx
A: Wow, there are so many artists that I feel have inspired me. I’d have to say acting wise some of my favorites are: Kate Winslet, Sandra Oh, Sean Penn, Leonardo DiCaprio and Johnny Depp. They are all so versatile. In the music world, my ipod is filled with everything but I’ve been listening to ADELE, Katy Perry, Kelly Clarkson, Kings of Leon, Coldplay, Jason Mraz, Billy Joel… etc. EVERYTHING!

Q: “I heard that you were in Spring Awakening on Broadway (LOVE that show)… Do you enjoy acting for TV more/less than on Broadway?” – Rose
A: Thanks for the Spring Awakening support! :) I have to say, as a theatre trained actor, there is nothing like Broadway/live theatre. I love the instant response and energy from the audience. TV is a completely different world and I’m pretty new to it, so I’m enjoying learning new things everyday- but Glee is the ultimate dream, because we get to do both!
