Mr. Shue No Longer Shaving His Head for Britney Episode

Filed under Glee Episode Spoilers, Glee TV Show News, Heather Morris, Matthew Morrison by Tinkers on 10-08-2010

Sources were originally reporting that Mr. Shue would shave his head in protest of New Directions perfoming Britney’s music. It appears that part of the episode was meant to be a surprise, but is no longer happening now that everyone knows. Whoops!

Heather Morris tells Access Hollywood at the Teen Choice Awards: “I guess they’re deciding not to do it now because it was supposed to be the surprise…then Ryan got wind that everybody found out and he was like, ‘I don’t think we can do it anymore because now it’s out’.”

Matthew Morrison added that if the head-shaving happened anyway, he would actually shave his head, instead of using a double or a head cap. “I’d have to shave it ‘cause then it wouldn’t make sense with the rest of the series,” Matthew said. Glad he’s thinking about continuity!

He could totally pull it off though. “I’m so hot,” he kidded, “I did it a couple of years ago for a movie and I like it.”

Heather joked about having Britney shave her own head for the episode. She said she’d opt for the bald cap. I would too.

The ULTIMATE Season 2 Spoiler Round-Up!

Filed under Glee Cast & Crew, Glee Episode Spoilers, Glee Guest Stars, Glee TV Show News by Tinkers on 04-08-2010

I now present to you, a HUGE HUGE round-up of every Season 2 spoiler you could ever need in your life! If you haven’t been keeping track of all the interviews, press events, panels, and just general hype, have no fear! This post is brought to you by TheGLEEkSpot’s tumblr, with the latest news added!

New Characters:

  • Kurt gets a boyfriend. An “everyday guy.” He’s going to be struggling with his sexuality and Kurt is going to help him through this. Ryan wants them to be prom king and prom king. This plot line is apparently delayed past the first few episodes.*
  • A christian country singer (a la Carrie Underwood) is supposed to come on. No word on how big this role is going to be. She’s also supposed to have a pretty big problem with Kurt and his boyfriend being gay.
  • Sam Elliot will be played by Chord Overstreet. Sam is a football player. Finn will take Sam under his wing, and will utlimately become Finn’s rival. He will also have a special relationship with Quinn.
  • Mercedes gets a love interest, too. A “male version of herself” (Can you say killer duets?)
  • Charice will be guest starring as a foreign exchange student and a rival to Rachel. Her character, Sunshine, will start out very small but as the season progresses she will get bigger. Charice starts filiming on July 28th with the rest of the cast, so she will be in the first episode.
  • Dot Jones will playing Shannon Beiste (pronounced BEEST) the new football coach, replacing Ken Tanaka, who will no longer be on Glee.
  • Cheyenne Jackson will be replacing Idina Menzel’s role as the new coach of Vocal Adrenaline. This will be a major, recurring role.
  • John Stamos will have a recurring role as Emma’s dentist boyfriend.
  • Javier Bardem will appear as a rock star who befriends Artie. “We’re going to rock the house,” the 41-year-old Gleek tells EW. “We’re going to do some heavy metal — Spanish heavy metal, which is the worst.”
  • Comedy legend Carol Burnett is said to be in the works for the role of Sue Sylvester’s Nazi-hunting mother. Nothing is confirmed yet, but really, how could they pass up Carol Burnett?

*They’re saying that Sam Elliot is NOT Kurt’s boyfriend. Our theory? They’re pulling back on all the hype so Sam can have a surprise “coming out” moment. The same way Idina being Rachel’s mother was a surprise.

Watch with Kristin: Brittany singing Britney and Kristin Chenoweth!

Filed under Glee Guest Stars, Glee TV Show News, Heather Morris by Tinkers on 13-07-2010

E! Online’s Kristin de Santos is making us squeal again! That woman has it down to an art form.

In her latest spoiler chat, Kristin answered the burning questions of two fans using her endless entertainment intel. Apparently, season two will feature the return of KCheno and the one thing we’re all waiting for: Brittany’s first solo!

Barry in Ohio: Glee please!
How about some Kristin Chenoweth news that’ll make your heart sing?! Our favorite guest star tells us she’s setting her sights on Glee’s second season, and she’s in talks to have her own show. (Anybody remember Kristin? Yeah, it’s not that.) “I’m working on my album with Sony,” the O.G. Snookie (Olive Snook, bitches, yo yo!) tells us. “So I’ll be doing a tour and going back to Glee a little bit and also doing my own TV show.” According to a source close to K.Chen, it’s way too early to divulge any other details, but still, feel free to hug me and give me chocolates for sharing this happy news. No really, I don’t mind.

Maggie in Barcelona: Is that Britney Spears’ themed episode of Glee really going to happen?
As of now everything is still in talks, but I wouldn’t be surprised if Glee pulled off a Britster episode in season two. We know one Gleek (and fellow “Brit”) who’d love it, too. Heather Morris (Brittany) tells me: “I heard there’s a Britney Spears episode coming up and fingers crossed that I get to sing, because I play Brittany and I’m like, ‘Oh my god, it’s insane.’” That could potentially be Heather’s first solo…how fitting is that?!

How exciting is that?! It’s been rumored that Brittany will make her singing debut, and also rumored that there’s a Brittany Spears episode in the works. How insane/ironic would it be if Brittany sang some Britney? Post below!

Edit: Thank you to a commenter, for pointing out that I spelled Britney wrong.

Glee Attendees at Comic-Con 2010

Filed under Glee Cast & Crew, Glee Events by Tinkers on 24-06-2010

Glee will once again be attending the San Diego Comic-Con! Since last year’s panel, Glee has exploded into an international phenomenon, winning at the Golden Globes, SAG awards, and People’s Choice Awards, just to name a few. The fanbase has exploded, twitter accounts gaining thousands of followers, and the actors have become household names. Some people questioned why Glee first came to the five-day long convention, but their return to Comic-Con was all but imminent. This year, the panel will feature actors that were absent from last year’s.

So, there’s good news and bad news. The good: Chris Colfer, Amber Riley, Jenna Ushkowitz, Kevin McHale, Mark Salling, Heather Morris, and Naya Rivera will be attending the panel and answering fan questions, alongside Brad Falchuk and Ryan Murphy. The bad: Lea Michele, Matthew Morrison, Dianna Agron and Cory Monteith will be MIA. Jane Lynch will be absent as well; apparently she had a scheduling conflict.

Now, before you take drastic measures: “Last year, we brought down Lea Michele, Cory Monteith, Matthew Morrison, and Dianna Agron. Because we have such a large cast and we can’t bring everyone every year, this year we decided to bring down some of the cast who didn’t get to go last summer,” A Fox spokesperson tells Entertainment Weekly.

Makes sense, right? To quote Sue Sylvester: “We’re giving everyone a chance to be a star! Find your voice, stomp that yard, all that crap!”

Dance Spirit Magazine: Heather Morris’ Road to Fame

Filed under Glee Interviews, Heather Morris by Tinkers on 25-04-2010

SGG-088433We all know and love her as the hilariously deadpan Cheerio, Brittany. Check out what Heather Morris had to say to Dance Spirit Magazine about her road to becoming a professional dancer from her humble roots in Arizona!

Once you spot Heather Morris on the hit TV show “Glee,” you’ll sit on the edge of your couch anxiously awaiting her every scene. As the unintentionally hilarious airhead Brittany, Heather delivers priceless one-liners with deadpan seriousness.

“Brittany can figure certain things out, like cheerleading and performing, because those are her passions,” says Heather. “But she doesn’t pay attention to anything else!”

Heather nails this obtuse character so perfectly that it’s hard to believe she’s a dancer first and an actress second. “Heather has incredible comedic timing,” says “Glee” choreographer Zach Woodlee. Plus, she has the kind of charisma that catches the audience’s attention. As a result, the 23-year-old is now finding out what it means to be famous.

Starry Mag Interview with Heather Morris

Filed under Glee Interviews, Heather Morris by Rob on 12-04-2010

Heather MorrisStarry Constellation Magazine has yet another interview with a Glee cast member. This time, our friend Lisa had the pleasure of chatting with Heather Morris, who plays Brittany on the show. I must say, this was a really good interview. They talked about a lot of fun behind the scenes stuff and even asked some questions about Brittany’s future. Make sure to check out the full interview on StarryMag.com and listen to a podcast of the interview, here.

Q. A lot of people have been asking, does Brittany have a last name?

A. That’s probably the best question I’ve ever been asked because I don’t. I’ve always asked Ryan, “Does Brittany have a last name?” He’s like, “No, I think you’re just Brittany.” We call her Brittawny as a joke, her nickname is Brittawny. She’s the only one on the show who doesn’t have a last name.

Q. “Glee” has some of the best comedic moments and lines, as does your character Brittany. She may not say much now, but what she does say is hilarious.

A. A lot of the stuff they give me will be last minute, it won’t be in the script, and they’ll just kind of throw it at me on set. They’ll run a scene and then Ryan will be like, “Ok Heather, I want you to say this.” It’s always fun because it’s so out of nowhere, I don’t even know what he’s going to give me to say. There actually have been a couple of times where I’ll jokingly say something in a scene and he’ll be like, “Oh that’s in, that’s in,” and he’ll use stuff that I say. It’s always fun because it’s so simple, no-brainer random stuff.

Q. So you have moments of adlibbing with your lines?

A. One time specifically in one of the new episodes that will be airing on Tuesday there was a line in a choir scene. In the middle of the scene I was joking and Jonathan Groff who plays Jesse St. James was standing next to Mr. Schuester, played by Matthew Morrison, and they looked identical. At the end of the joke I said, “Mr. Schue, is he your son?” Ryan started cracking up and he was like, “I’m using it!”
