Preview for the Back 9! – Includes Madonna Episode

Filed under Glee Episode Previews, Glee TV Show News, Videos by Rob on 15-02-2010

After Entertainment Tonight’s aired an exclusive preview for the back 9 of Glee, I was given this version of the preview to post here! To be honest, this clip is infinitely better since you actually get to hear the music they’re singing, instead of the Entertainment Tonight host’s voice over.

It is full of clips from the upcoming Madonna episode and you can even see guest star Jonathan Groff as the lead singer in Vocal Adrenaline! Exciting! :D

So what do you guys think? Did you see Rachel’s “Team Finn” t-shirt? Hilarious! xD

Note: This clip will expire in a week, but hopefully it will be on Fox’s YouTube account soon!

Molly Shannon Boarding the Sue Sylvester Express! Destination: Horror

Filed under Glee Cast & Crew, Glee Episode Spoilers, Glee TV Show News by Rob on 10-02-2010

Molly ShannonComedic actress Molly Shannon, who you probably know from her many years on Saturday Night Live, is being added to the list of Glee’s famous guest stars! She will be playing Brenda Castle, McKinley’s new “busty” 45-year-old astronomy teacher and badminton coach. Also, she’s a raging alcoholic and pill-popper. Yay! She sounds like a hilarious addition to McKinley’s supply of crazy sports coaches.

Her character will really be getting under Sue’s nails in the back nine, so expect a new passenger on the “Sue Sylvester Express. Destination: Horror.” Do you think we’ll be getting a showdown between the Cheerios and the badminton coaches? I hope so!

Sources have revealed to us that as of today, Shannon is not going to be singing in the episode, despite her frequent singing in SNL sketches when she was a series regular. Also, she has only been written into one episode to date, scheduled to air in May, but we might be seeing more of her if all goes well. Get on that, Molly Shannon fans!

Back 9 Casting Call Leaks

Filed under Glee Episode Spoilers, Glee TV Show News by Rob on 09-02-2010

Wheels - Bake SaleAccording to some leaked casting calls for the back nine, we can expect to see a new character in Episode 1.17, titled “Laryngitis“, which will me filming from February 23rd to March 4th.

The character is named Shawn, and they’re casting people ages 18 to 25 for the guest star role. He’ll be a high school Senior who was injured and is now a paraplegic. He’s described as “a cute, funny jock type.” It’ll be interesting to see another paraplegic in the school since Artie has mentioned that he’s not the only kid in a wheelchair at the school, but we haven’t seen anyone else yet.

Also, in episode 15, “Home“, we’ll see Tracy Pendergrass, a 30 to 40 year old African American guy who is a hip and cool journalist and Peter Gow, who is a 40 something year old male Asian lawyer with a dry sense of humor. There are two laid back movers for an Ohio moving company, Leroy and Guy, who are both big, built dudes. Lastly, there’s a Nurse in a local hospital. She is sweet, pleasantly plump, and described as “very Ohio”.

Fox Orders the Back 9

Filed under Glee TV Show News by Rob on 21-09-2009

Glee has been picked up for the back nine! This means that Fox ordered nine more episodes to be produced. Those 9 plus the initial 13 that they have already filmed means 22 episodes in total for season one! This is great news, since that means the ratings have been going well. Hopefully they’ll order a season two! Fingers crossed ;)

Here’s a quote from Watch with Kristin:

And thank goodness, too, because Glee star Jane Lynch recently told us, “I am a mature, experienced professional who will probably go off into a corner and cry if the show is not picked up for nine more.” And according to the radioactively charismatic Amber Riley, “If we get picked up for nine more, we’ll go back in January.” Since that if is now a when, expect to see the final nine on the air in late March or early April.

But what’s to come in the remaining 10 produced episodes? We caught up with the cast recently, and they spilled lots of secrets. Read on to find out about an all-wheelchair dance number, a Lindy Hop between an unlikely pair and which two wildly different characters might shock you by hooking up…

Great News: Fox Picks Up a Full Season of Glee!

Update: Kevin Reilly, FOX’s Entertainment President, gave this quote in a press release: “The response we’ve received to Glee has been remarkable. It’s already got the makings of a cultural phenomenon. I’ve seen all 13 episodes, and Ryan Murphy, his team and the talented Glee cast have knocked our socks off with their incredible work. We’re happy to pick up this gem of a show and can’t wait to see what they’ll do with the rest of the season.”
