All the entries are in and it’s time to announce the Top Ten finalists for our Gleek Talent Showcase Contest.
It’s Round 2!
We’ve looked through all the entrants’ videos, and we’ve picked our Top Ten! These finalists displayed some of the best talent with their videos entries.
Keep in mind the prizes that are at stake for the winners:

Stephanie is 19 years old. Though she attends school in Boston, she was born and raised in New York. She loves music and hopes to pursue a career in the field later on. Enjoy her cover of the song “Hole in My Heart” by Alphabeat! She actually spliced together video of her singing both of the parts! Neat!
2) Jack Savige
Short Film -- “Don’t Stop Believin’”
Jack is 19 years old, from Melbourne, Australia and currently studying screenwriting. He made a hilarious video based on the concept of three Glee fans writing an episode for the premiere of Glee‘s second season. It is hilarious and definitely shows off his talent for film making! When deciding who to vote for, remember: W.W.C.C.D.?
3) Mary Pascoe
Singing “Mercedes Benz” by Janis Joplin
Mary lives in Los Angeles, California, and submitted a video of a live performance she did there. She’s both an actress and a singer-songwriter. She plays the guitar, trumpet, and piano, and even self-produced an album called “Who Brings a Cat to the Disco?”! Enjoy her lively rendition of “Mercedes Benz” by Janis Joplin!
4) Cara-Lynn Branch

Cara-Lynn Branch is 21 years old and lives in Canada. She writes books, lyrics & scripts for musicals. Despite her major in musical theater, the talent she chose to display is more unique. Describing it just as “painting” doesn’t do it justice. Just watch it. If you don’t appreciate it, then you aren’t a true Gleek! XD
5) Celeste Kamiya
Singing “A Case of You” by Joni Mitchell
Celeste lives in San Francisco, California and has been a huge Glee fan since the first 2 seconds of the pilot. Also a huge fan of the Broadway musical Spring Awakening, she enjoys singing, acting, and dancing. Although she’s too young to audition for Glee, I think you’ll love her version of “A Case of You” by Joni Mitchell that she sang for our Gleek Talent Showcase.
6) Steven Karunphand
Singing “Ordinary People” by John Legend
Steven Karunphand is from Belleville, New Jersey. He’s 21 years old and currently attending college at Fordham University in New York. For our contest, he sang “Ordinary People” by John Legend. Enjoy!
7) Rebecca Michelson
Singing “Terrified” by Kara DioGuardi & an Original Song
Rebecca goes to school in Boston, but lives just outside of Philadelphia. She’s a freshman in college and loves to sing, play the guitar and play the piano. She says that she secretly wants to be on Broadway someday, but has major nerves. Maybe one day! Enjoy an original song about her love of Glee, a Kara DioGuardi song and a bit of piano playing.
8) Jean Ryan Escalante
Singing “Swallowed in the Sea” by Coldplay, a cappella
Jean is 22 years old and his hometown is Yellowknife, NT in Canada. He’s currently attending Vancouver Film School. His musical background includes three years in his high school’s choir, one semester in concert band, and a supporting role in a musical with a solo. Also, he gets a lot of vocal practice by singing in the shower every day. Here’s his a cappella version of “Swallowed in the Sea” by Coldplay.
9) Katherine Paige
Singing “Someone to Watch Over Me” by Gershwin.
Paige is 14 years old and lives in Bakersfield, California. Recently she played the role of Mrs. Potts in a production of Beauty & The Beast, and although she’s too young to audition for Glee, she sent us a video of her singing “Someone to Watch Over Me” by Gershwin. Enjoy!
10) Elena Dudum
Singing “Gravity” by Sara Bareilles
Elena is 17 years old, lives in San Francisco, California and is Palestinian-American. She loves being in musical theater productions, both in her school and with local theater companies. When she isn’t singing, she enjoys designing and sewing her own line of clothing. For our contest, she sang “Gravity” by Sara Bareilles. [Warning: the audio's a little quiet, so you may want to turn your volume up.]

AAAH! I NEVER in a hundred years thought that my video would be chosen. :D “A Case of You” is my all-time favorite non-musical song, so I loved doing that video! I can’t believe it!! :)

Wow! All of the people were amazing! They all deserve to be on glee! Stephanie’s singing was really cool and amazing. Jacks acting was entertaining. Mary was did a really excellent with that difficult song. Cara’s action figures were kinda cool and a good idea pretty artsy. Celeste’s song sounded almost exactly like Joni Mitchell like seriously. And Steven singing John Legend was very good too! So they all did really well! Good job to all of them!

Wow, I’m in awed by everyone’s talent and am completely honored (or honoured to my fellow Canadians) to be included with these other amazingly talented people.
I like alot of them, my personal favorite is Celeste. I think that she is young but that doesn’t mean she can’t sing. She sings strongly and it sounds great!
Wow I loved Stephanie’s video. She’s really good.. I bet she’ll be on TV some day =] got my vote!
Ummm, is Jack’s the only one that thought about copyright? Covering an artist’s song and airing it on the internet without paying royalties… Not good!
This also then makes me think Jack’s the most original on that merit. He created an entire narrative, a great little mockumentary. The other entrants were great, but a singing competition is one thing> A Gleek comp is another entirely!

I personally think that Stephanie should already be on glee. She is the only one to me that looks like she put alot of effort into the video. She worked hard on the song, doubled her self, and added a video of someone playing the guitar (guessing her friend) and i really hope she wins and trys out for glee. :) Everyone is good but she really stands out to me.
OK, Jessica I’m going to stop you right there. You don’t think that making an enitre short film is more effort than singing one song? And not to mention that Jack had little over 2 weeks to write, cast, shoot and then edit the enitre short film? Jack put the most effort in, his is the most original and creative. He deserves to win.

I think Katherine Paige has a stellar voice, but it was poor song choice. Shecan clearly do more with those vocal cords of hers, and such a subtle song underplayed her voice. I found the song quite dull in fact.
I wonder about the copyright implications of all the songs posted too. This website could get sued for putting up songs people have sung without paying due royalties to the songwriters. If people love music so much they should respect the laws in place to protect and pay artists!!

Yeah, but watch Idol. People get slammed even if they have amazing voices, because of song choice. it’s too subtle. I’m not saying go for vocal gymnastics, but you’ve got this monster of a voice inside you that deserves to be unleashed! Give us goosebumps with a great performance of an amazing song (like Chenoweth doing Maybe This Time), and you’ll be ten times as memorable!

Talent is talent. Capitalize on it for sure. However, in this day and age sometimes talent just doesn’t get you “there” like it use to. There are so many very talented people but unfortunately those very talented can fall into the “dime a dozen” category (i.e. American Idol try-outs). I appreciate those who have a talent that can be so entertaining to those like me (who don’t have a musical gift). Katherine Paige has an incredible voice and while it sounds amazing now, I can only imagine with age what it can become. My vote is for Katherine Paige. Great job to all.
I came on here with the intent of supporting one person, specifically, whether they were the best or not. However after listening to all the videos, I am now POSITIVE that support is absolutely earned. Paige is phenomenally talented, with much better raw ‘chops’, vocally, than any of the other contestants (who are stylizing their vocals to cover their weaker voices, whereas she has next to NO stylization and a more pure, strong tone).
If she doesn’t win this, I DO think she has potential to win other vocal competitions, but talent (especially young talent) absolutely deserves to be rewarded. None of the other singers are bad at all, but I am genuinely surprised at how much further she is over the other contestants. It is literally head and shoulders above, to this vocalist’s ears, anyway.

I’m not sure about everyone else’s thoughts, but I think the most talented people are those that can sing AND play an instrument! Only ONE of these contestants is doing that…while everyone is talented, it’s much harder to sing with an instrument than alone….number 7 all the way!!
Oh right Dronee. That’s why she has like a 100 videos from Glee as her favorites on her youtube page. If you click on her video you can see them on her page. You can prefer one person over the other without tearing them down. Besides by ANY standard Katherine Paige has an incredible voice, especially for one so young.
I know that I actually am a contestant, but I wanted to say that you don’t have to be mean to every contestant to get out your support for one. All of the contestants are extremely talented and deserve major props. I am sure everyone worked super hard on their videos and put a lot of time and effort into them. So, please, though everyone is entitled to having a favorite, in the spirit of Glee, remember to have respect and to take into consideration other people’s feelings.

Watched them all. Voted for JACK’s. Seemed he put in the most effort, writing a script, arranging for actors, arranging locations, directing, acting, filming, lighting, recording, editing the footage….. seems like JACK has put in the most effort, and clearly has the tallent to be a great film maker, writer, director,… and anything else JACK does in like a weekend!

Is Lea Michele less talented because she has been trained? Is her talent somehow tainted because of it? Look at the other contestants before you pass judgement. Many are studying music in college. Do you think they receiving training there?

I am talking to the people who are being rude about their “constructive” criticism. You can speak the truth without having to be abrasive. I for one think it’s appropriate to tell someone what they should improve on. And yes, it does help them grow as an artist.

The people who are voting for Jack are mainly from Australia, which is a different time zone to the US. They’re awake when you’re asleep, which is why you think it’s fishy. They probably think the same thing about Stephanie.

In regards to peoples comments on Jack, we live in a different time zone. We have lots of friends and family who are supporting us. It took us a fair amount of time to put the video together and we are honestly greatful for the attention it had received. I just hope that the general public can see that we not spamming and that this is all in good fun :)
I thought it was a singing contest but Jack does have a bright future in movie making hope he doesnt give it up!!I think Katherine is great and she will only get better as she is so young!!
Glee IS a singing show so keeping that in mind, I voted for Stephanie! I love her style and he harmonizing was out of this world. And that is really hard to do, using both the high and low aspects of your voice. Katherine isnt the terriable for 14 but honestly, she but me to sleep and i dont trust her because of the fact the she just 90 votes since the last time i checked up on this, WHICH WAS LAST NIGHT! This is neck and neck and i wish luck to every one! I truley believe Stephanie will win! GOOD LUCK!

NO because she isnt just above jack by like 2 votes and its not sudden! she has been gaining votes all the time and its not like she popped out of no where and it’s not as big of a jump! Jack was not high at all at the beginning and all of a sudden when the 29 th was getting closer and close it has been jumping like crazy! where was everyone at the beginnig? i don’t know if you guys have realized this, but if you go to stephanie’s youtube channel, you’ll see that she has over 1100 subscribers at the moment so it’s really not that “fishy” that she has over 700 votes right now. in any case, everyone needs to CALM DOWN and stop accusing each other of cheating. seriously, it’s not like a crazy impressive prize is at stake here, so no need to point fingers. how pathetic do you think these people are that they’d cheat for a signed script and some poster? just have fun and vote for your favorite.

jack is cheating!!!! whether or not it is overnight his votes have gone up an extreme amount which is totally ridiculous. if he does win, he should feel guilty because it was not in good glee spirit. what a loser. somebody better than you could have won, cheater. your video wasn’t even funny.

Is it so hard to believe that 1200 people may have actually liked Stephanie’s video enough to vote for it themselves? Are you that pathetic that you can’t even bring yourself to be happy for the ONLY contestant here whose video has more than 5000 views on Youtube? Do the math. Accusing someone of doing that kind of cheating for some pretty humble prizes without any hard evidence only makes you look like an asshole. So what if you didn’t enjoy her video as much as 1200 other people did – get over yourself and congratulations for having the rudest comment on this entire page.

As a “spammer” as you’d like to label me, Steph’s video showed the most talent of anyone else here. And she won. Besides… who the hell are you? What have you ever done? Honestly, if it were a singing competition either Steven or Katherine would have won… not just based on talent, I think most of them were talented, but both had a great range, controlled voices and sounded with little or no pitch problems. Some of the video work was great, Steph’s was pretty neat but not hard to do, Jack’s film was funny and well done. It’s unreal that so many people feel the need to bash one another instead of just supporting the people who were brave enough to post a video for this competition knowing there were people like that out there. Congrats to all of you :)
