Want to show off your talent to Glee fans around the world? Maybe even a Glee cast member or two? ;) Then this is an opportunity for you!
All you have to do is make a video entry for our contest, showcasing your talent! You’ll have the chance to be seen by thousands of GleeFan.com readers who will be voting on the videos, as well as some of the Glee cast members! :D
We’ll be awarding prizes to the winners:

First Place – 1 Signed Glee Script & 1 Signed Glee Poster from the Gleek Tour
Second Place – 1 Signed Glee Cast Photograph
Third Place – 1 Glee Hat
So here’s what you need to do:
1) Record a video of yourself showing off whatever talents you have! You can be singing, dancing, acting, whatever! You can perform a song from Glee, or a song from your favorite band or musical. You can perform a monologue of your choice or bust a move! Just show us what you’ve got. :)
2) Upload your video (no more than 5 minutes long) to YouTube or a similar video site. Make sure to mention that it’s for this contest and link to GleeFan.com in the video description.
3) Send us an email at Rob@GleeFan.com including your name, where you live, a link to your audition video and tell us about yourself.
We will be picking the top 10 videos and we’ll let YOU vote on them during Round 2 of the contest! [Edit 2/22/10: By "we", I mean myself, Tinkers, Travis, Rowell, Laurie and Shelly. =) Trust me, it will not be just MY top 10, it will be a general consensus of who should be the top 10.]
All entries must be submitted by Monday night, March 1st at 11:59 p.m. EST, which is when Round 1 ends.
Round 2 begins on March 8th, so come back ready to vote for your favorites! Good luck, Gleeks! :)

Alright, so basically this won’t be the same video for the actual audition, since we don’t know the qualifications yet, just a video for a contest from here? awesome, I need some video practice. Hahaha, most likely entering this!
Hmm.. I’m weary about entering this. How are we so sure the producers will be watching? And will entering this get us disqualified from the official glee audition, or are these two one in the same or some how linked?

I don’t think this will get you disqualified from the actual audition for the roles in season 2. On a brighter side, the producers or whoever watches here that has a valuable opinion on the show might like your video and have you in mind for one of the roles. Did that make sense? Haha :)

where do we go to watch people’s entries?!
Does the video need to be an actual video? If you’ve recorded a song on Garageband, can you add an introduction and some pictures? Of course, I’ll still enter anyway, though!
Darn it! I miss the cut by 6 months. Why do we have to be at least 13? Just wondering.
Because I can get parental consent. And OMG on the due date I’ll be 6 months away from 13! Wow tha’s weird… sorry if it sounds like I’m whining.

Some advice: I really don’t think anyone should avoid entering this contest out of worry it would end their chances of co-starring on the show. I highly doubt it would disqualify you, but even if it would, let’s be serious here: the auditions are open to professionals, the chance of some fan who can “kind of sing” and “kind of act” are not good, to put it lightly. At least here you have a better chance at winning the prize, even if it’s not as cool. Just trying to be realistic.

If you display something good enough that “they” want you, “they” will hire you.

Wow seriously guys, if you aren’t 13, don’t enter the contest. A big part of it is the COPPA laws, it’s the same reason you shouldn’t be joining forums and stuff, because it is exposing yourself to the general public and that’s not kosher. Additionally, I think that if you can “kind of sing” and “kind of act” then this contest is perfect for you because we’re not in competition with many professionals. Have fun but don’t be obnoxious.
Do we get sent confirmation emails or anything to make sure we are properly entered once we post the video and email them? I mean, I guess it’s pretty self-explanatory. Maybe I’m just being paranoid…
Ooh – very tempting. Especially as I have a pretty low voice (definitely not gonna hit the high B of a tenor!) so am not necessarily Glee material – but it would it would be great to give this comp a shot! Now to just find a time when my flatmates are out to record the video…
I’m missing the cut by 8months. I’m still entering. The cast and crew are watching this right? Well then how in any way would this ruin our chances at the real thing?
If you didn’t make the cut don’t enter, you just make the process longer and your video will get thrown out anyway…

I am excited to try out for this. There isn’t anything that would disqualify you from trying out for the GLEE auditions. I mean, that’s just illogical. I am 24. I love GLEE. I intend to try for this contest and the audition. Good luck to everyone that enters for either!
Why have the entry dates and prizes been changed? I was all excited for the top ten to be announced in the next week and now it’s not for like 3 more?

This contest is mass sketchy. All of a sudden the prizes all change and the date gets pushed back 3 weeks? This shit sounds major amatuerish. I doubt anybody but the site owners will see these lame ass videos IMO.

Okay, so is this thing even really still happening? I just talked to Ultimate Gleeks & they are saying they’re not affiliated with this site anymore. They always seem to know what’s going on with all Glee happenings. I’m starting to worry.
idc if there is no prizes, I’m gonna enter anyways. I’m only 12 but they can’t check can they? Lolz i’m gonna be famous someday anyways so I might as well start now. I’m almost as good as Rachle Berry and I’m wayyyy younger, so that’s okay if they lied about there prizes. I already know I’m the bestest!

We have been receiving a lot of good entries, but we wanted to give a little bit more time for people to enter. All the final details will be up very soon! :)
Please, remember that this contest is just for fun (and prizes)! We are NOT claiming that it is the online casting call that Fox is doing.
So exactly when are you gonna announce the real details and “awesome” prizes. It’s annoying to think your getting one thing only to get something else.
Rob, it’s all well and good to say that you wanted to give people more time, but what about those of us who worked hard to make sure our entries were in on time for the original date? It’s a little unfair. It’s bad enough that you guys get to be the ones that decide what 10 vids are worthy of being shown as the best, because not everyone would neccessarily agree, but people put that aside to try anyway. It’s only fair to stick to the dates you set in the first place for the people that met those deadlines.
oh meant to add too, that it was seen on Twitter that people from this site were pushing for certain people to enter pretty much guaranteeing them a place in the top ten, that’s kind of an unfair advantage. It’s like you’re pushing one person as the winner already
I completely agree with Jo. This is so unprofessional, especially since a lot of us spent lots of time and hard work getting things together to meet YOUR deadline with the promise of specific prizes and now you take away any priE commitment and seem to be rigging the contest. I wonder if that’s why Ultimate Gleeks pulled out. Something very fishy is going on here, Rob. It’s unfair and really sketchy. I’m not entering anything on this site anymore.
Also, IMO, the Andrea girl that you are so obsessing over isn’t that good. She’s cute, I mean besides having a huge nose, but her voice is just okay. She sounds sometimes nasal like she has a cold and tries to hard to be Christina Aguilera.
Ooooh. And it’s been four more days and you are still “reworking” the contest details. Are you ever going to tell us what is really going on with it and if you’re relly offering any prZes or not. Thanks.
Shayna, I completely agree. That girl sounds like so many artists we already have, and it’s not interesting or original anymore. More to the point something very offputting about her is that she herself seems to think she’s better than she is and that makes me dislike her. I never expected to make the top 10 but I sent on my video anyway because i wanted to have fun with it. Pretty mych promising someone a place to enter is so unfair to everyone else.
The fairest way would have been to compile a masterlist of ALL of the video’s (links to YT for example) and have people submit THEIR top 5 or 10 and the ones that had the most votes that way should have been the actual top 10 because it’s not just Rob’s opinion that matters as far as who has the most talent goes.
It does come off as very u8nprofessional as changing rules and prizes and so on without even telling anyone that it’s happening. You want people to participate so they have a RIGHT to know what is what.
I emailed Ultimate Gleeks to find out why they aren’t supporting this anymore, but they were mum, saying only this:

I personally think they are a lot more professional than Rob, no offence. He’s only 17 and he already tweeted that he needs to work more on school. I don’t think we’re ever going to get this contest straight or any real prizes. I’m pulling my video and entering the official Fox one. I can’t win against a rigged contest.
Gleeks! Please don’t turn any of this into a mud slinging fest. Remember that Glee is about joy and not about tearing other people down. Andrea Marchant is phenominally talented and does not deserve to have her physical appearance or her talent insulted. Rob may not be the person you’d have him to be but he does do his best here. That much I do know. If you are unhappy with the thing that go on here, there are many other sources for Glee information, etc. Please don’t give Gleeks a bad name by spreading lies or false assumptions.

I hope you don’t think I was slandering her talent, I was simply explaining that she’s not to my tastes and explaining why, but also how all of the things that have happened in the last couple of weeks come across.

I’m pulling my video too. No prizes, equals no video. No offense, Ultimate but she does suck. and her nose is huge.

(We all run GleeFan.com, GleeForum.com, GleePodcast.com, etc.) Trust me, it will not be just MY top 10, it will be a general consensus of who should be the top 10. Also, this contest is supposed to be about having fun and showing off your talent, which is the true meaning of Glee! Negativity is totally unnecessary. I’m trying my hardest to make fun opportunities for Gleeks to pass the time until Glee’s return in April, and if that is not appreciated, then you may leave. The reason for having to change the prizes was out of my control, but I do not want to point any fingers right now.
Rob what is annoying people is pushing back dates when there was no need to, pretty much promising certain people a place if they enter and not giving us any warning of changes. None of that is fair to those of us who entered on time, by guaranteeing one person a pplace before any other entries automatically means one other person who is equally/more deserving of a place will miss out.
Guys! What is the problem here?? This is a simple, fun contest which several fans put together to showcase talent. All you guys seem to care about is prizes and winning. So what if the deadline was postponed a week or so. This is to give more time to people who were considering entering. This is not a rigorous audition process or anything. It’s a fun event for us Gleeks to take part in. No need to be so competitive.
Rob’s a hard, hard worker. He’s been working since May of 09 to keep this site updated for you guys. Really, this UltimateGleeks dude only popped up a month ago and suddenly you trust him more then Rob. Why is that?
Dianna, i spoke to Rob via email about my own personal issues. I didn’t mind about the changing deadlines etc. I did have issues, i don’t care about prizes and I have explained in more detail the main issues that had upset me personally.
I agree Rob is a hard worker in the time he dedicates to this site, and i for one am not suggesting i trust anyone more than him. I also apologised for how some of my comments came across, they were certainly not meant as attacks towards Rob. I’m sick, so maybe haven’t been as nice or eloquent as i could have been. I’m bitchy when i’m sick. Can’t help it :D
Now that I have spoken persoanlly with Rob and issues have been addressed, I would like to draw a line under the whole thing.
This contest is still a joke. You can’t change this stuff constantly and have people take you seriously. This site just isn’t professional. Sigh. None of us will ever end up with a prize. This is all publicity for Rob and his stupid Glee Network.

yea, I think it’s kinda screwed up that they were promoting the “andrea” girl on twitter. It’s not really fair to the rest of the people who entered. I have decided NOT to vote for Andrea just for that. I mean she already has an advantage and pretty much secured a place in the top 10, it’s only fair to level the playing field right? I encourage everyone else NOT to vote for her as well… I mean unles you really, really think she’s the best… which I doubt!
I’m almost a little embarrassed to be in the same group of fans as these folks who are being entirely disrespectful about this whole thing. I’m sorry, but have you all forgotten that this isn’t an official FOX website? If they can’t get the advertised merchandise, then obviously things will have to change.

If a date was pushed back, deal with it. If you haven’t noticed, FOX announced that these auditions would be held in February. It’s the 26th. Have they happened yet? No. Grow up.
