Confirmed: Britney Spears WILL Make a Cameo in Her Tribute Episode!

Filed under Glee Episode Spoilers, Glee Guest Stars by Tinkers on 10-08-2010

In a recent interview with Ryan Seacrest, Ryan Murphy revealed that Britney Spears herself will in fact be making a cameo in her tribute episode! “I think Britney, 100 percent, is going to be on the episode,” he tells Seacrest this morning. It doesn’t get more confirmed than that!

Britney’s role in the episode was covered as well. Apparently, the glee kids are denied performing Britney by an obstinate Mr. Shue. When when they take a visit to John Stamos (the dentist), the anesthesia creates a hallucinogenic musical explosion starring Britney herself!

In regards to how Britney’s darker days will be handled, including the head-shaving: “[This episode] is so reverential, so kind and about her music,” Ryan says. “We’re handling Britney with kids gloves.”

Heather Morris (whose character Brittany will be performing in the episode) almost got wind of the Britney cameo beforehand. When asked about it, she remarked, “I hope so, somebody keeps teasing me and telling me she is coming. Oh my gosh, I would be so nervous. Not really, I would be excited.”

Are you loving this Britney news as much as I am?! Feel free to scream/fangirl/speculate in the comment section!

The ULTIMATE Season 2 Spoiler Round-Up!

Filed under Glee Cast & Crew, Glee Episode Spoilers, Glee Guest Stars, Glee TV Show News by Tinkers on 04-08-2010

I now present to you, a HUGE HUGE round-up of every Season 2 spoiler you could ever need in your life! If you haven’t been keeping track of all the interviews, press events, panels, and just general hype, have no fear! This post is brought to you by TheGLEEkSpot’s tumblr, with the latest news added!

New Characters:

  • Kurt gets a boyfriend. An “everyday guy.” He’s going to be struggling with his sexuality and Kurt is going to help him through this. Ryan wants them to be prom king and prom king. This plot line is apparently delayed past the first few episodes.*
  • A christian country singer (a la Carrie Underwood) is supposed to come on. No word on how big this role is going to be. She’s also supposed to have a pretty big problem with Kurt and his boyfriend being gay.
  • Sam Elliot will be played by Chord Overstreet. Sam is a football player. Finn will take Sam under his wing, and will utlimately become Finn’s rival. He will also have a special relationship with Quinn.
  • Mercedes gets a love interest, too. A “male version of herself” (Can you say killer duets?)
  • Charice will be guest starring as a foreign exchange student and a rival to Rachel. Her character, Sunshine, will start out very small but as the season progresses she will get bigger. Charice starts filiming on July 28th with the rest of the cast, so she will be in the first episode.
  • Dot Jones will playing Shannon Beiste (pronounced BEEST) the new football coach, replacing Ken Tanaka, who will no longer be on Glee.
  • Cheyenne Jackson will be replacing Idina Menzel’s role as the new coach of Vocal Adrenaline. This will be a major, recurring role.
  • John Stamos will have a recurring role as Emma’s dentist boyfriend.
  • Javier Bardem will appear as a rock star who befriends Artie. “We’re going to rock the house,” the 41-year-old Gleek tells EW. “We’re going to do some heavy metal — Spanish heavy metal, which is the worst.”
  • Comedy legend Carol Burnett is said to be in the works for the role of Sue Sylvester’s Nazi-hunting mother. Nothing is confirmed yet, but really, how could they pass up Carol Burnett?

*They’re saying that Sam Elliot is NOT Kurt’s boyfriend. Our theory? They’re pulling back on all the hype so Sam can have a surprise “coming out” moment. The same way Idina being Rachel’s mother was a surprise.

Chord Overstreet Joins “Glee” as Sam

Filed under Chris Colfer, Glee Cast & Crew, Glee Guest Stars, Glee TV Show News by Rob on 26-07-2010

Chord OverstreetThe long awaited casting decision for Kurt’s boyfriend, Sam, has finally been revealed. The character which has, in the past, been described as Kurt’s potential boyfriend will be played by Chord Overstreet, who is still fairly new on the acting scene. He’s had a couple guest starring roles in shows such as iCarly and the upcoming No Ordinary Family, but Sam should be his biggest role to date. It’s been announced that he will appear in the season-premiere, and Glee co-producer Dante Di Loreto has confirmed via Twitter that he’ll be in “some early new episodes” of Season 2.

In a recent Comic-Con interview with Michael Ausiello, the cast had a few things to say about the upcoming storyline. “Actually, I’ve heard that they might be leaning towards another storyline which would delay that,” Chris Colfer tells Ausiello. “I’ve heard that it might be provocative, though.” Amber speculated, “He may still find love, but he may not have a boyfriend.” Kevin said, “I want to see a boyfriend, though,” which the rest of the cast collectively agreed with. “I think we all do,” Jenna added.

We didn’t know too much about Sam before, but we did know that he’s supposed to be an openly gay football player at McKinley who eventually becomes Kurt’s love interest in the show. Fox’s latest press release has added that he starts off as a sort of protégé to Finn, but eventually becomes his competition. Could this be the storyline which causes the delay for the character’s budding romance with Kurt? Possibly.

To find out more about Chord, visit his IMDB page, check out his MySpace (with a song likely sung by his father), or catch him in the online web series, Private.

Watch with Kristin: Brittany singing Britney and Kristin Chenoweth!

Filed under Glee Guest Stars, Glee TV Show News, Heather Morris by Tinkers on 13-07-2010

E! Online’s Kristin de Santos is making us squeal again! That woman has it down to an art form.

In her latest spoiler chat, Kristin answered the burning questions of two fans using her endless entertainment intel. Apparently, season two will feature the return of KCheno and the one thing we’re all waiting for: Brittany’s first solo!

Barry in Ohio: Glee please!
How about some Kristin Chenoweth news that’ll make your heart sing?! Our favorite guest star tells us she’s setting her sights on Glee’s second season, and she’s in talks to have her own show. (Anybody remember Kristin? Yeah, it’s not that.) “I’m working on my album with Sony,” the O.G. Snookie (Olive Snook, bitches, yo yo!) tells us. “So I’ll be doing a tour and going back to Glee a little bit and also doing my own TV show.” According to a source close to K.Chen, it’s way too early to divulge any other details, but still, feel free to hug me and give me chocolates for sharing this happy news. No really, I don’t mind.

Maggie in Barcelona: Is that Britney Spears’ themed episode of Glee really going to happen?
As of now everything is still in talks, but I wouldn’t be surprised if Glee pulled off a Britster episode in season two. We know one Gleek (and fellow “Brit”) who’d love it, too. Heather Morris (Brittany) tells me: “I heard there’s a Britney Spears episode coming up and fingers crossed that I get to sing, because I play Brittany and I’m like, ‘Oh my god, it’s insane.’” That could potentially be Heather’s first solo…how fitting is that?!

How exciting is that?! It’s been rumored that Brittany will make her singing debut, and also rumored that there’s a Brittany Spears episode in the works. How insane/ironic would it be if Brittany sang some Britney? Post below!

Edit: Thank you to a commenter, for pointing out that I spelled Britney wrong.

Pop Star Charice to Join the Cast!

Filed under Glee Guest Stars, Glee TV Show News by Tinkers on 21-06-2010

Speculation about guest stars has been going on for weeks now (John Stamos, Taye Diggs, Daniel Radcliffe, etc.), but here’s an officially confirmed recurring role to be announced for season two! Filipino pop star Charice is said to be joining the cast as “a foreign exchange student whose killer vocals get Rachel (Lea Michele) contemplating murder,” so says Ausiello.

Charice apparently shot down rumors of appearing on Glee via her twitter, but as it turns out, she later auditioned and made it!

Remember those three new characters that we learned about way back when? Could this be that “Eve Harrington-esque” rival for Rachel, who was said to join the cast alongside a male Mercedes and a boyfriend for Kurt? Most likely!

For those of you who have never heard of Charice until now, here’s a brief blurb via her Wikipedia page:

Charmaine Clarice Relucio Pempengco (born May 10, 1992), best known as Charice (a portmanteau of her first two names) or Charice Pempengco, is a Filipino international singing sensation who rose to popularity through YouTube. Dubbed by Oprah Winfrey as the Most Talented Girl in the World, she is the first Asian in history to land in the Top 10 on the Billboard Top 200 album chart.

Daniel Radcliffe is a Gleek!

Filed under Glee Guest Stars by Tinkers on 21-06-2010

Daniel Radcliffe told Access Hollywood last Thursday that he’s interested in a Glee cameo! The 20-year-old Harry Potter actor is making his return to Broadway (after a brief visit to the stage in the straight play Equus) in the musical revival of How To Succeed in Business Without Really Trying. With the Harry Potter films just about finished, Radcliffe is setting his sights on musical theater, and possibly Glee!

When asked whether he’d be interested in taking his singing and dancing ambitions to the small screen, Daniel replied: “Yes, absolutely, I would consider it. I mean of course… it’s an amazing show and I [would] obviously be honored to be asked. But, I’m not sure I’m ready for that yet. They’ve got standards like Kristin Chenoweth!”

Daniel’s been taking dance and vocal lessons to prep for his role in the Broadway revival. What do you think? Would you love a cameo from the boy-wizard?! Post below!

Taye DiggsYep, you heard right folks: Taye Diggs is a-go for a guest spot! Kristin Dos Santos posted this in her E! blog, Watch With Kristin:

We just chatted up Taye and asked him the exact same question—and Spoiler Alert—he’s onboard! “I would love to do it,” Taye gushed at the prospect of guest starring on Glee. “I love the show; I’m a straight up fan. It’s so enjoyable to watch and to see a show for people who to sing and dance. Plus, I love how they integrated Idina into the show, and I would love to be a guest.”

Could Taye be a potential candidate for Mercedes’ dentist father? Or perhaps a replacement coach for Vocal Adrenaline? Are you as unbelievably excited as I am?! Post away!

John Stamos Likely to Guest Star on Glee in Season Two!

Filed under Glee Cast & Crew, Glee Episode Spoilers, Glee Guest Stars, Jayma Mays by Dena on 08-06-2010

The news has just broke out on a deal involving a potential Glee guest star! Be prepared for a spoiler alert!  John Stamos is in negotiations to play Emma Pillsbury’s dentist boyfriend. According to Michael Ausiello from EW.com, they are nearing a deal, so don’t be surprised to see the former Full House star on our beloved show! The irony lies within Emma Pillsbury’s quote:  “They say it takes certainty more than talent to make a star. I mean, look at John Stamos.” Emma said this quote during an Acafellas scene, in which she tried to cheer Will up due to the Glee members wanting to hire Dakota Stanley.

John Stamos is known for his starring role on Full House as Uncle Jessie and also has some Broadway credits under his belt. If the negotiations go through, you can definitely bet on a sing-off for our lovely Emma Pillsbury’s hand!

Miley Cyrus on Glee – Billboard Magazine

Filed under Glee Guest Stars, Glee Interviews by Dena on 01-06-2010

Ever wonder if Miley Cyrus may guest star on Glee one day, or even if they might slip in more of her songs, or dare I say it:  a Miley Cyrus-themed episode? Think again. Miley Cyrus has already let it be known to the public of her disinterest in the hit show.

As many avid fans may already know, the episode Laryngitis featured Rachel Berry attempting to sing her rendition of “The Climb” by Miley Cyrus, only to discover she has tonsillitis. When asked about her own thoughts of Glee, the Hannah Montana Star gave Billboard Magazine the following quote.

“Honestly, musicals? I just can’t.What if this was real life and I was just walking down the street on Rodeo Drive and all of a sudden I just burst into song about how much I love shoes?” There was then a pause, followed by laughter as she added in, “It would get hits on YouTube”.

The interview, in addition with the quotes above, can both be read in June’s issue of Billboard Magazine.

Susan Boyle to Play McKinley High’s Lunch Lady?

Filed under Glee Guest Stars, Glee TV Show News by Tinkers on 20-05-2010

Whatever happened to JLo? Because apparently, Ryan Murphy is considering the possibility of Susan Boyle playing McKinley High’s lunch lady. It would make sense, considering JLo was supposed to have a “Susan Boyle-esque” rise to fame. Whoever thought they’d go straight to the Youtube sensation herself?

When asked about Susan, Ryan Murphy replied: “I have two words for you: Lunch. Lady. I think Kurt would just die to give her a Christmas makeover. I don’t even know if she’s interested but it’s been pitched.”

I guess it would work out, since both Boyle and Glee are signed to the Columbia record label. What do you think? Would Susan Boyle make a good gleek? Are you bummed JLo potentially got kicked/politely declined? Sound off below!

Starry Mag Interview with Lauren Gottlieb

Filed under Glee Guest Stars, Glee Interviews by Rob on 10-05-2010

Lauren GottliebStarry Constellation Magazine seems to constantly be interviewing Glee cast members, and this time they chatted with actress Lauren Gottlieb. Lauren was on the dance competition show So You Think You Can Dance, and now is on Glee as a member of Vocal Adrenaline. Lauren talked about her experiences as a Vocal Adrenaline member in the interview, but if you listen to the extended podcast of their interview, you can also hear Lauren talk about some of the injuries on set and more! Make sure to check out the full interview on StarryMag.com and listen to a podcast of the interview, here.

Q. You’ll soon be seen again in Vocal Adrenaline on the show “Glee,” how did you get involved in the show?

A. It was an audition that I went on. I started in the pilot and that was 2008 when we auditioned. When I got on set the first time one of the creators came up to me and said that he was a huge fan of mine from “So You Think You Can Dance.” I don’t know if he was the one who chose me or what. I have a really funny story from that shoot, it was the pilot, and it was before they got really smart and realized that we don’t really necessarily have to choreograph a five minute dance number because there is only going to be a minute or a minute and a half that’s going to be played. They started us with a five minute number that you’re on set doing maybe twenty times or whatever it may be. My costume was really small, they had run out of the size that I needed, and they gave me a really, really small one. I couldn’t breath and I actually got so sick that I had to run off set a couple of times and I actually was throwing up. In the middle of shooting this crazy number I was running off and throwing up. The funny part is that another girl hurt her neck and had to go to the hospital. A couple of weeks later I get called in for another episode and the whole theme about the episode was how this girl was bulimic and she was throwing up and this other girl got whiplash and she had this neck brace on. They actually wrote our story into the script, it was really sad.

Q. Are there any “Glee” cast members that you’ve become friendly with from appearing on the show?

A. The girl who plays Brittany on the show, Heather Morris, we actually grew up together in Arizona and went to the same high school together. I’ve known her for forever and we were at two different dance studios. She’s a year older than I am and we were these funky, crazy people, and I looked up to her so much, and I was completely addicted to her energy. We were at rival dance studios but we kind of brought everyone together and nixed out all of that competition stuff. We had a blast growing up!
